What is HVCBA Driver Training?


Heavy Vehicle Competency Based Assessment (HVCBA) is an Service NSW–approved assessment process that allows eligible drivers to upgrade or obtain a heavy vehicle licence without completing a traditional driving test.
The assessment is conducted by a qualified HVCBA assessor and focuses on real-world driving competence and safety, rather than a single test day.

WHO IS HVCBA TRAINING FOR?


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS (NSW)
Holding the required NSW licence class for the minimum period
Being medically fit to drive a heavy vehicle
Having adequate driving experience for the licence upgrade
Providing valid identification
Final eligibility is confirmed by the assessor in line with Service NSW and Transport for NSW guidelines.
